香港院校多透過學校 LMS（如 Blackboard、Learn@PolyU、CUHK 的系統）使用 Turnitin；學生通常由課程或導師提供提交入口。本平台為獨立第三方，非 Turnitin, Inc. 官方，亦非任何院校入口；如要提交功課，請使用你所屬院校嘅官方系統。新手最常遇到的問題不是「抄襲」，而是不了解機制而誤判、或自查反而入庫。這篇指南帶你由零到提交前，一次走完整個流程。
一、Similarity 與 AI Score 是兩個不同的分數
Similarity（相似度）比對文字與現有文獻、網頁及學生論文的「重疊比例」；AI Score（AI 分數）則是估算句子「是否由生成式 AI 撰寫」。兩者分開計算、分開顯示，AI 分數高不代表抄襲。
二、先確認：你這份功課用哪種提交？
- Draft Submission：草稿自評用，報告能否查看、是否入庫，取決於作業匣設定；
- Final Submission：正式評分版本，多數院校會把定稿寫入學生論文庫；
- 私人 No Repository 自查：只用於產生當次報告，不會寫入 Turnitin 資料庫。
搞不清楚時，先問導師或看課程大綱，比事後補救更省事。
三、提交前自查的標準流程
- 完成定稿、確認字數與格式（.docx／.doc 或純文字）；
- 用 No Repository 模式提交，取得 Similarity＋AI 雙指標 PDF 報告；
- 打開 Match Overview，逐項核對標紅來源是「引用不當」還是「需改寫」；
- 依需修正後再自查一次，確認分數回落；
- 正式經學校平台提交前，再讀一次課程要求。
四、報告常見名詞速覽
- Match Overview：逐條列出相似來源清單；
- Exclude Bibliography：將參考文獻排除於相似度計算（依導師要求使用）；
- Quoted／Paraphrased：標示直接引用與改寫段落的來源標記；
- AI Writing Report：按句子顯示 AI 生成可能性。
五、會唔會入庫？三個最常見迷思
- 「學校交過就一定會入庫」——不一定，視乎作業匣設定；
- 「自查一次就一定入庫」——用 No Repository 模式則不會；

Your school's Turnitin account can usually be set not to add your work to the repository; third-party self-check tools (including ours) never submit your essay to any institutional database.

Turnitin 自查會唔會入庫？Will a Turnitin self-check be added to the repository?
一般不會影響。只要選用 No Repository 模式，文稿只用於產生當次報告，不會寫入 Turnitin 學生論文資料庫，正式提交時不會出現「自己比對到自己」。
Usually not. In No Repository mode your file is used only to produce that one report and is never written into the Turnitin student paper database, so it will not be matched against you later.
